ECTOIN
Ectoine is a stress-protection molecule that allows microorganisms to survive under extreme environmental conditions, such as temperature fluctuations, high concentrations of salt, strong UV radiation or dehydration.
Source: Discovered in alkaline lakes of the Wadi Natrun in Egypt. It is produced by bacteria in a biotechnological process.
Effect: Strengthens and protects the skins self defence, reinforces broken skin barrier, smoothes rough and scaly skin. Protects and regenerates the skin from stress-factors, such as pollution, blue light, and UV rays. Increases skin hydration with long-term effect.
