HYALURONIC ACID

HYALURONIC ACID

Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally in the body and skin. It can bind up to 1000 times its own weight in water, ‘plumping’ the skin up. It comes in different molecular weights acting at different levels. As part of the aging process, natural levels of Hyaluronic Acid slowly decrease over time.

Source: Apart from an animal origin (which as a vegan friendly brand we don’t use), hyaluronic acid can be obtained from bacteria through biotechnological processes, which provide high-purity molecules.

Effect: Powerful intrinsic and extrinsic anti-aging properties. Moisturising, anti-wrinkles and anti-inflammatory effects. High molecular weight versions offer hydration at the skin surface, acting as a water reservoir and preventing Trans-Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL). Low molecular weight versions can penetrate deeper into the skin, reducing wrinkles depth and exerting its anti-inflammatory potential. Both types improve skin hydration and elasticity, and a combination of different molecular weights lead to best results.
